News from the Ballard District Council

    Meeting July 12, 2017, 7:00 pm
Location: Merrill Gardens, 2418 NW 56th Street

Parking, whether at home in your neighborhood or at your shopping destination is a challenge to manage as our city density increases. This month’s meeting takes a look at the many issues around parking availability and its costs to the greater community, We’ll again use a panel format with representatives from both residential and commercial interests.

A few of the July 12 panelists include participants from:

    • City of Seattle – parking management tools, longer range planning
    • Phinney Ridge – residential neighborhoods and new developments
    • Downtown Ballard Commercial – balancing parking access with costs, times, and options
    • High density housing development – bottom line trade offs in a changing market
    • University of Washington – research into unintended effects of parking decisions in a changing world

It should be a lively and informative evening. To cover the most ground in the time available we’ll collect written questions and group them so come prepared with what you’d like to know about parking in our growing city.

At the close of the panel discussion we’ll take a few minutes for members to discuss potential positions the Ballard District Council might take on behalf of our community.

Please join us. All are welcome whether or not you participate in our member organizations.
