It’s true, it takes a Village! Now expanded into Ballard, the Phinney Neighborhood Association (PNA)’s Village Program empowers people to remain in their homes and neighborhoods while staying active and engaged as they age. It offers three types of services:
1) Volunteers who assist with home/yard maintenance, shopping, transportation, etc.
2) Information & referrals, such as vetted plumbers, electricians and dog walkers
3) Community-building activities, such as writing groups and educational outings.
There’s no age requirement to join. Young people, seniors, single parents, recent retirees, and any others who may need help with cleaning their gutters or getting to a doctor’s appointment, etc. can use the Village services. There’s an annual fee, based on different needs.
For more information about this program, please see the PNA Village website.
