The Ballard Civic Orchestra, which rehearses weekly at the Sunset Hill Community Clubhouse, will present a performance of Pergolesi’s 1736 masterpiece Stabat Mater, featuring Fumi Tagata, soprano; Jose Luis Munoz, counter-tenor; and Laura Ouimette, organist.
The Sound Singers Japanese Choir, under the direction of Chris Vincent, will also perform several representative pieces, as well as a collaborative performance of Mozart’s Laudate Dominum with Ballard Civic Orchestra, conducted by Mr. Vincent. Sound Singers Japanese Choir, established in 2009, is comprised of individuals with an interest in Japan and are dedicated to the mission of “Building Friendship Through Music!” Their music seeks to celebrate the culture of Japan as well as other cultures, while deepening understanding and appreciation for diversity and connection with people from all nations.
