Public Forum on oil trains rumbling through Ballard on September 20th

Are you concerned about the oil trains rumbling through Ballard? – Free Public Forum, Wed., Sept. 20th, 7:00 pm

Please join us for a free public forum at the Sunset Hill Community Association on Wednesday, September 20 at 7:00 pm: “Oil Trains…& More” about the trains carrying highly flammable substances through Seattle, along Shilshole Bay and beyond.  Representatives from the City of Seattle, Seattle Fire Department, King County Emergency Management, and the Sierra Club will address safety, emergency response, and political aspects of oil trains.  There will also be a discussion of other major fossil fuel projects planned in the Pacific Northwest.

Speakers include Mike O’Brien, City of Seattle Councilmember (District 6), Assistant Chief A.D Vickery from the Seattle Fire Department, Barnaby Dow, External Affairs Manager for King County Emergency Management, and representatives from the Sierra Club.

The event will be held at the SHCA clubhouse at 3003 NW 66th St., Seattle 98117 and is scheduled for 7:00 – 8:30 pm.
