You might be familiar with “Seattle Now and Then,” the popular photo-history column by Paul Dorpat, which regularly graces the inside back page of the Seattle Times magazine every Sunday — astonishingly totaling more than 1,800 columns over the past 36-plus years. No other city in the United States has experienced the enduring impact of such a feature. More than anyone else, Paul Dorpat has nurtured locals’ deep appreciation for Seattle heritage.
A commemorative, “best-of” coffee-table book, Seattle Now and Then: The Historic Hundred, includes spectacular, all-new color “now” photos and is being released this fall, honoring Paul’s 80th birthday.
Coupled with the presentation will be a Holiday Party with the Ballard Historical Society.
“Then and Now” attire encouraged!
Stay tuned for more details on the party.
