Introducing our 2022 Board Members!
John Munroe
Lives two blocks from SHCA on 32nd
“After 20 years on the SHCA board, I have been rewarded with great events, fun parties, interesting people and satisfying historical building renovation projects. My background is in Alaskan fishing, my own commercial buildings, farming and yacht repair here in Ballard. So the SHCA is a great place for me to contribute to my fun community and get to know neighbors like you reading this!”
Vicki Loe
Lives near Picolinos and the Green Market on 35th
“I’ve lived on Sunset Hill since 1997 with my husband. We have two adult daughters; one lives on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle and the other in Jackson, Wyoming. I work in the field of science communications.”
Ian Templeton
Lives near Picolinos and Webster Elementary
“I first moved to the Sunset Hill neighborhood with my partner in 2006. After graduating from the UW in 2009, with a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, we moved to the UK. After spending time on the East Coast and in the Bay Area, we moved back to Sunset Hill (12 blocks from where we started).
In the early 2000s, I co-founded a non-profit, which was focused on providing all-ages concerts at a number of locations in the Seattle area. I joined the SHCA Board at the end of 2019, out of a desire to once again take an active role in building community with my neighbors. I enjoy going for walks, puttering in the garden, building things and two-wheel transportation. I took over as President of the SHCA Board in 2021.”
Allison Cougan

“I’m a Seattle native who’s lived in Ballard on and off for about 15 years. Sunset Hill is an amazing community and I’m honored to be on the SHCA Board.”
Betsy Berretta
Lives near Sunset Hill Park
Betsy is a partner, mom to an energetic two year old, lawyer and an outdoor activity enthusiast. She and her family made the trek from NYC to Sunset Hill in 2019 and are very much enjoying the PNW. While in NYC, Betsy was a member of her condo board association and oversaw the revitalization and renovation of the historic building which used to be a school in the 1920s. She is excited about community history, engagement and connections.
